    Aspen Vincent (Ensemble, u/s Baby)

Aspen spent her early childhood years in Alaska, and then moved to San Diego, CA where she grew up performing with the San Diego Civic Light Opera. She was home schooled in junior high while she starred in SDCLO’s production of Shazammm, an educational show that toured elementary schools in southern California. Aspen was also active in Christian Community Theater in San Diego, where she performed in countless productions. As a child Aspen also became a veteran of the recording studio, singing jingles for companies like Petco, Disneyland, American Airlines, and Burger King, and recording background vocals for Ringling Bro’s Circus and Disney on Ice productions.

At 18, Aspen was chosen by Andrew Lloyd Webber to perform at his annual Sydmonton Festival held at his estate outside of London. Soon after, Aspen created and voiced the role of gossip queen Dodie Bishop on Nickelodeon’s hit animated program As Told by Ginger, helping the show earn Emmy nominations for Best 1/2 Hour Animated Program three years in a row. She has also recorded leading roles for several animated pilots for FOX and Nickelodeon and has guest starred on The Rugrats. She has done voice-over work for several CD-rom games, and can be heard voicing three different characters for the hugely popular Everquest II.  Also comfortable in front of a camera, Aspen has done several national commercials, including Subway sandwiches and a superbowl commercial for AT&T. Aspen has sung the National Anthem for the LA Lakers, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, and the San Diego Chargers, and performed in the popular vocal group Groove 66 at Disney’s California Adventure for 2 1/2 years.  In 2004 Aspen was cast as the female lead, Scaramouche, in Queen’s hit stage musical We Will Rock You, and rocked audiences nightly at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas until the show closed a year and a half later. Aspen spent 2006 and 2007 travelling the globe as the lead female vocalist and duet partner of the legendary Meat Loaf on his world tour celebrating the release of Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose.   During this tour she had the opportunity to be featured on The Today Show, The Tonight Show, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, The Megan Mullally Show, and Dancing With the Stars.   Today Aspen is honored to share the Dirty Dancing stage with her amazing husband, Tony Vincent, who she married in January of ’08, after they met costarring in We Will Rock You. “Thank you Linda, Peter, Franc and Dad, the entire creative team of Dirty Dancing, David for your endless patience and encouragement in teaching this singer how to dance,  and Tone- You’re my life, my love, my all...”

After starting an independent record label out of his college dorm room in Nashville, Vincent used college radio to help land him his first recording contract, recording two hit albums with EMI and four full years of touring. Desiring a change of scenery that would challenge him musically, Vincent headed for New York City. The plan was to gain more experience to further his fledgling recording career.  To his surprise, however, he found himself leaving the big apple almost as fast as he arrived, hitting the road once again—this  time, with the national touring company of the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock opera, RENT.  It was to become one of a string of musical theatre and film opportunities that were to temporarily frustrate Vincent's dream of a recording career over the next few years.  'I enjoyed the opportunity to perform live onstage 6 nights a week on Broadway and London's West End' whether it was as 'Roger Davis' (RENT), 'Judas Iscariot' (Jesus Christ Superstar) or 'Galileo Figaro' (We Will Rock You)' because it allowed me to have my days free to spend time writing songs and focusing on my own music,' says Vincent.  'That's where I found real creative freedom and could remain grounded in the reasons I moved to New York in the first place. Being in the public eye each night also gave me an opportunity to work with some of the city's really strong writers and artists.' Over the past year, Tony Vincent made a huge decision to forgo any theatre opportunities and focus on his music once again without any distractions.  Hooking up with hit producer (and former college mate) Adam Anders, the two began collaborating on new creative ideas and music.  Almost immediately the two knew they had something special going on.  As work progressed, and Anders became more in demand to produce projects for major labels, Vincent forged additional writing partnerships, including indie-songwriter Nate Campany.  'The project really began to take shape as we wrote between my studio and Adam's.  I felt like I was writing truly honest material for this project—stuff that I was proud of and that I wanted to share.  I was singing in a more comfortable place, and I think that after listening to the end product, it will become obvious to the listener as well.' With the release of A Better Way, Tony Vincent is geared to fulfill what Billboard foreshadowed just a few years back and to not only wow audiences with a new kind of rock-influenced pop, but to give hope through his lyrics as well.' • Eleanor Bergstein

    Eleanor Bergstein (Writer and Creator)

Eleanor Bergstein is a novelist, screenwriter, producer, and director. Her stories have been published in national magazines ranging from Transatlantic Review to Redbook and Cosmopolitan. Her first novel, Advancing Paul Newman, about women and politics in the sixties, was published by the Viking Press, and her first movie script was It's My Turn starring Jill Clayburgh and Michael Douglas. Her second novel, Ex-Lover, about sexual obsession, was published by Random House. She has worked on a variety of film projects, including the final script revision of Sister Act. She then wrote and directed Let It Be Me, which starred Campbell Scott, Jennifer Beals, Leslie Caron and Patrick Stewart.

Her most famous project was one of the most successful independent films of all time - Dirty Dancing. It was the unique continuing response to the story over the years that made her decide to reimagine Dirty Dancing as a stage event. The multiple viewings by audiences all over the world made her suspect that what the audiences really wanted was to be more physically involved in the story. This would mean that its natural form was live theatre - one that combined dance and story and music in a new way. It was also her chance to add new scenes not in the movie, as well as songs she had wanted for the movie and been unable to obtain.

Ms Bergstein, through her company Magic Hour Productions, is presently completing a number of film projects. She is also at work on a new stage musical set in London in the late sixties.
